WPDH Album of the Week: Alice Cooper ‘Welcome to My Nightmare’
Tune in for the WPDH Album of the Week this Sunday at 11PM. We’ll be bringing you Alice Cooper 'Welcome to My Nightmare' in it's entirety, start to finish.
Released in 1973 on Atlantic Records, Welcome to My Nightmare was Alice Cooper's first solo album, and it's a concept album. The album is a journey inside the nightmares of a child named Steven. It was the inspiration for Alice Cooper's 1975 tv special and world concert tour.
Welcome to My Nightmare reviews were generally mixed upon it's release. One review from Rolling Stone magazine writer David Marsh called the album, "A tv soundtrack that sounds like one. The horn parts are so corny, you might imagine that you are listening to the heavy metal Ann-Margret."
The WPDH Album of the Week is presented by Darkside Records. They’re giving away copies of the WPDH Album of the Week each week. All you have to do is nominate a new album using the form below the form below:
