A national website has ranked the best high school cafeterias across the country. A few Hudson Valley schools have made the list.

Niche.com recently ranked the cafeteria food of over 10 thousand public high schools. Their grades are based on the average expenses per student compared with reviews from parents and students. By breaking down the top 100 school cafeterias in New York State, we can determine which ones in the Hudson Valley were ranked the best.

Out of the local schools included in the database, Monroe-Woodbury High School has the highest ranking in the Mid-Hudson region, coming in at 38 in all of New York State. Onteora High School is right behind at 39. Cornwall also makes the top 100, ranking 56. Those schools are followed by Haldane High School in Cold Spring at 74 and Red Hook Senior High School, just making the list at 97.

The lower Hudson Valley fared much better in the results, with Tappan Zee High School in Orangeburg ranking 27 and White Plains Senior High School at 30.

As for the worst cafeteria food in our area, we're going to have to leave that up to you to decide. The database did not reveal any scores outside of the top 100 schools. But we'd be interested to find out what you think about your local high school's cafeteria. Feel free to share your reviews on our Facebook page or in the comments section below.
