Some of the hottest temperatures in years are scorching the region this weekend.

The Hudson Valley is under an Excessive Heat Warning until Monday at 10:00 p.m., as temperatures are expected to climb to the upper 90s Sunday afternoon.

Factor in the humidity, and the Heat Index could reach 100 to 115 degrees.

Is there any end in sight? When is it going to finally cool down?

Well, according to forecasters, not until the end of the week if we're lucky. Monday's not expected to be any cooler, with highs once agin reaching the upper 90s. Lows will only reach the 70s at night. Tuesday will pretty much be a repeat of Monday.

Fourth of July will just continue the trend of hazy, hot, and humid weather with highs in the lower 90s. Pack some extra sunscreen for your BBQs and family get togethers cause it's going to be brutal.

So when is the actual break expected to happen? Maybe not until this Saturday, as highs might "cool off" to the lower to mid 80s. Until then, limit your time outdoors if you can, and drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
