Turbodog – Beer of the week 1/13/14

Each week I get the opportunity to choose my "Beer Of The Week".  It's a tough job to select and sample the greatest beers in the world, but someone has to do it...

This week we head on down to New Orleans for a sip of Abita Turbodog.  Abita Brewing Company has been around since the mid 80's.  Surviving in a town like New Orleans, you need to keep impressing some serious party goers.

Turbo Dog is a gift to all of those die-hard malt fans out there.  It's a dark brown ale, brewed with caramel and chocolate malts.  There is a little bit of hops to round things off, but this is all about the sweetness of the malt.  Turbodog started out as a specialty ale, but has become so popular it's brewed year-round.  Pick up Turbodog at Half Time for half price this week and pair the rich, malty body of this beer with some steaks, a burger or some authentic Louisiana Jambalaya.  You'll be celebrating with your own little private Mardi Gras.  Cheers!
