Teach Your Children Well.  That is what Crosby, Stills, and Nash sang, and you can do just that this Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Newburgh Free Library.  It is Take your Child to the Library Day, and there will be activities throughout the day.

Preschoolers can take part in the Big Play Day from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Preschoolers up to age 5 can learn science, math and art as they work with their families on early literacy activities and sensory play.  Children can meet the Tail Waggin’ Tutors and their owners from noon-1 p.m. These are licensed volunteer therapy dogs that give struggling readers a chance for  to practice their skills.  At 1 p.m. a Bear’s Year Family Story Time offers stories and activities about bears and hibernation for ages 4-7. Tweens and teens are invited to join the R.E.A.D. e-Books Discussion at 2 p.m. in the e-Learning Center.

Take Your Child to the Library Day is an international initiative started in 2011 that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library.  For more information, call 563-3616 or 563-3623.
