Orange County rests in the picturesque Hudson Valley of New York state. It's located a quick 40 miles away from Manhattan.

Orange County was actually one of the first counties established in New York in the early 1600s. According to Orange County's Government website, George Washington has many intimate ties with Orange County. Aside from Newburgh being one of his places of residence, it is also where Washington established the Order of the Purple Heart. Orange County is also home to many historical firsts. Orange County Tourism shares that the county was home to America's first butter factory, first outdoor flea market, and first female soldier. Deborah Sampson was dubbed America's first female soldier after she disguised as a man to help serve Washington's Army during the American Revolution.

Today, Orange County is home to growing cities and towns like Newburgh, Goshen, Monroe, Port Jervis, and Montgomery to name a few. Perhaps one of it's crowning jewels is America's oldest military academy, The United States Military Academy at West Point. Aside from being a renowned academy, it is also one of the "most popular tourist attractions in the Northeast" according to the Orange County Government page.
