In case you haven't seen it yet, Taco Bell has recently been in the news, so much so that they are issuing the public an apology. Apologizing for what you may ask? Well, quite literally for admitting they "went a bit too crazy" with their breakfast menu.

Who needs a "Waffle Taco" or "Naked Egg Taco"? It's too much. You can really feel the genuine sincerity the fast food giant has for their innovations in their new "apology" advertisement campaign.

The Campaign

To really get the apology across to the public, Taco Bell enlisted the help of celebrity comedian/actor Pete Davidson. Davidson, who is no stranger to news or front page headlines, admits in the commercial that like Taco Bell, he too has at times "gone too far" regarding his past. It really is just a match made in sincere heaven.

With the help of Davidson, Taco Bell seems to be preaching a straight-to-the-point simple approach to their breakfast menu, or as Davidson says, "its simple food...". I can only speak for myself but I really enjoy straight honesty from Taco Bell. Just like Taco Bell, I mean what I'm saying.

In Reality

All right, now without speaking with a single hint of sarcasm, let me say what this really is from Taco Bell. This is a tongue-in-cheek "apology," hell there's nothing to even apologize for. This ad campaign from where I'm sitting is basically a moment where Taco Bell is metaphorically pounding their chest saying "yeah we know, our stuff is delicious." Did not need to convince me of any of that Taco Bell, you're my go-to for a needed late-night meal.

I also appreciate the use of sarcasm here, it's just my sense of humor and evidently, it's Pete Davidson's sense of humor too. Look, at the end of the day we all know one thing, Taco Bell is great and it doesn't matter what ad gets pushed, we're all at some point going to be grabbing ourselves a much-needed Crunchwrap (no tomatoes) and a Cheesy Gordita Crunch. So yeah, I guess I'm on my way to Taco Bell now.
