Shots were fired at a lower Hudson Valley hospital on Wednesday, August 8.

NBC New York reports that gunfire broke out on the fourth floor of Westchester Medical Center, in Valhalla. Allegedly, it is an attempted murder-suicide. The hospital is currently on lockdown.

A call regarding the shooting came in around 9:30 a.m., according to NBC New York. Officials have not released much information, but they say the situation is under control. It is unclear how many people are injured or if there are any fatalities.

NBC News 4 Washington reports that an employee of Westchester Medical Center working in the burn unit saw nurses and doctors running from the building. He said that his co-worker did not hear an announcement regarding the incident over the loudspeaker, but heard about it from another employee.
