A New York man died whie in police custody, after being tased during an altercation in the Albany area. 

Police came across the 39-year old man, in the early hours Thursday, as reported by CBS 6. The man became very agressive, and there was a physical altercation between the man and officers. It was at this point that officers deployed the taser, but it seemed to have no effect on the man.

The man then led police on a breif chase. Officers were able to catch the man, and placed him into custody. While in custody he suffered a medical emergency, and lost consciousness.

Officers performed CPR on the man, and he was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the man has yet to be released.
