The coronavirus pandemic is forcing many New Yorkers to miss work. Either by their job sending workers home, or forced closures.

On Monday, all restaurants, bars, movie theaters, gyms and casinos were closed. Restaurants are allowed to offer take-out and delivery services. Bars can also stay open for take-out or delivery.

On Wednesday, it was announced all indoor portions of malls, bowling alleys and amusement parks must close by 8 p.m. on Thursday. There's no word on how long the new restrictions will be in place. However, stores with their own outdoor entrance can stay open.

Then on Thursday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced 75 percent of a company's workforce must work from home.  The new rule doesn't apply to essential services like supermarkets, pharmacies, medical facilities, the media and gas stations.

Also on Thursday, Price Chopper/Market 32 announced it's looking to hire over 2,000 new workers for part-time or part-time temporary positions due to the increase in demand at supermarkets during the coronavirus pandemic, NBC reports.

“The pandemic outbreak has been devastating to so many businesses and their employees," Price Chopper/Market 32’s Vice President of Human Resources Operations Mike Miller said in a statement, obtained by NBC. "At the same time, we must keep our stores open to provide the community with vital goods and services - and though our exceptional teammates are working around the clock to do this - we need some extra help. It’s our hope that this hiring opportunity provides relief to many for the sake of serving many more within our communities."

The new positions will be in 132 stores across six states, including New York and Connecticut. CLICK HERE to apply.

Earlier this week, ShopRite announced it has immediate openings during this high volume time. The company said it's looking for people who were "displaced from your regular routine." CLICK HERE to apply.
