With the biggest snow storm of the year bearing down on the Hudson Valley, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office has released information on all the work they're doing to prepare. We're looking at anywhere from 12-24 inches before all is said and done with the heaviest concentration of snow expected during the day on Tuesday. We could see as much as 4 inches per hour with winds gusting up to 50 miles per hour.

A press release from the governors office states that nearly 2,000 Department of Transportation plow trucks will take to the streets with more than 400,000 pound of road salt on hand if necessary. Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution and all non-essential travel should be avoided. You can call 511 or visit 511ny.org for travel and transit information.

Metro North will be monitoring the situation and adjusting the schedule if necessary. They have 3,000 people on duty focused on storm response. All track work has been suspended for the duration of the storm.

The amount of preparation the state is undergoing is a massive effort, for more information head here. For local closing and delay information you can link up with the WRRV Storm Center. And don't forget to get the bread and milk.
