The madness has to stop. It's bad enough people get up at 2am to go shopping on "Black Friday". Now retailers are pushing people to shop on Thanksgiving itself. An upstate mall just outside of Buffalo, is buying into holiday shopping hype.

Time.com reports the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga has announced it will be fining stores that are not open by 6pm on Thanksgiving. The fine amounts have not been made public and we can only hope the owners will show some leniency on the policy.

People should be spending Thanksgiving with their families. Shame on this mall for putting a financial penalty for not staying home with loved ones.
