Can you hear me now? Well, if you're calling from the Hudson Valley the answer is probably no.

A new study was released this week that shows just how terrible mobile network performance is in the Hudson Valley. And it's pretty bad.

Traditionally, the Hudson Valley has ranked very low when it comes to cellphone service. This year, however, our area ranks dead last. Dead, as in your phone when you try to make a call in Newburgh.

Root Metrics released their complete 2017 mobile network rankings this week and The Hudson Valley was ranked 125 out of the 125 markets surveyed across the country.

According to the results, the Hudson Valley was either last or in the bottom five in all six categories. When it comes to network reliability and call performance we have the absolute worst. Our area was second to last in data and text performance. Data speed in the Hudson Valley was ranked 121 out of 125.

And if you think switching your mobile provider will help get better service, think again. The rankings were based on an average of all four of the major US networks. So no matter if you have AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon you're pretty much in the same boat.

To add insult to injury, the number one performing mobile network is just down the Hudson River in New York City.

So what do you think about the mobile service in our area? Have you been frustrated with poor connections and reliability? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below or on our Facebook page.
