Monday, April 20: Happy Birthday Drummer Mike Portnoy

Happy Birthday today (April 20) to drummer Mike Portnoy. He's 48. Portnoy is the former drummer/co-founder of Dream Theater and he currently performs with The Winery Dogs. It was recently announced that he would be taking over drumming duties for Twisted Sister replacing AJ Pero who passed away in March. He is also known for playing in the band Adrenaline Mob and several other side projects.

Mike Portnoy is well respected for his technical skill as a drummer and he has won 29 awards from Modern Drummer magazine.
