Police weren't quite expecting this to happen when they flipped their lights on and attempted to pull over a man over on Sunday.

The suspect knew he was in trouble. He just had one more thing he had to do before going to jail.

Michigan State Police say when they signaled for a 36 year-old motorist to pull over he continued to drive on for several miles, and even held up his finger to tell the cops he needed a minute.

What was so important?

According to the Detroit Free Press, Stravansky Nycassio Hinds needed a little extra time to finish the joint he was smoking.

Police say that the Clinton Township, MI man said he also needed to call his family, for he knew he was in trouble for having a warrant out in the state of florida and marijuana in his vehicle.

According to a Michigan State Police news release, Hinds was arraigned on charges of impaired driving, possession of marijuana, fleeing a police officer, operating an unregistered vehicle and unlawful use of a license plate.

Hey, at least he was honest.
