Man in White Van Approached Teens on Route 9, Police Say

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police are warning residents after two teens were approached around the Route 9 area. 

The incident occurred on Monday after 6 p.m., where two teenagers reported being approached by a passenger of a white van near South Road and Beechwood Avenue in Poughkeepsie.

The passenger of the van had a tan complexion and was possibly Hispanic, approached the teens, according to a press release. The teens did not engage in any further conversation, and were able to leave the scene, police say. The van left the area traveling in an unknown direction.

The teens could not provide a more detailed description of the driver and passenger of the van, or a better description of the vehicle, according to police. Police are still investigating the incident.
