If you’re looking to spend the day with unusual, rescued animals, I’ve got you covered! My friend gathered a group of us to visit a place called Noah’s Park Retreat. The way that this incredible organization cares for these sweet, very unique animals is truly amazing.

Upon arrival, you’re greeted by friendly faces…the animals who live there, of course!

Noah’s Park Retreat is a nonprofit local animal sanctuary in the Hudson Valley. This hidden gem is located in Goshen and so worth checking out for a fun filled day! They’re dedicated in educating the public, schools and other groups of the importance of protecting animals and their environment. Noah’s shows us the connection between people and animals.

It’s really amazing how they are the home to a number of small, unique, unusual, and farm animals who live on seven acres of beautiful land. There’s different paths to take within the majestic gardens which leads to some of the animals residence where you can learn about them and what it means to care for them. These precious animals come from the United States and different countries. Noah’s Park Retreat has saved animals from meat and fur farms, those who have been abandoned by their owners and injured animals who were not able to get the help they needed.

During the tour, visitors learn the history behind each animal, where they come from, what they eat and who gets along with whom. This place is an animal lovers dream! I was so excited that I learned each animals name, fed them their favorite food, and held them. All tours are hands on, super educational and interactive. Due to the cost of maintaining their space and care for the animals, the suggested donation is only $10 per person (based upon groups). Noah’s Park Retreat is by appointment only and open 7 days a week! The entire property is so tranquil, the animals are loved and happy, you can totally tell!

These are just some of the residents who I luckily got to meet!

-Peacocks, potbellied-pigs, bunnies, emus, turtles, goats, porcupines, alpacas, honey bears, armadillos, mini horses, toucans, parrots, wallabies, marmoset monkeys, sheep, rescued deer, African bull frogs, cows, donkeys, fennec foxes, cats and dogs.

In addition to donations they can always use food for the animals such as,

apples, pears, sweet potatoes, oranges, bananas, any type of greens except Iceberg lettuce, kiwi, whole-wheat bread, blueberries, raspberries, frozen mixed vegetables, hay/straw, dog food, guinea pig food, rabbit food, ferret food, parrot food, chinchilla food, alpaca food, wallaby food, horse food, cracked corn, peanuts, almonds, etc.

Also, any type of bedding, towels, bleach, Simple Green, paper towels, newspaper, large black and kitchen garbage bags, etc.

My favorite you ask? The fennec fox named Cleopatra! When I showed the picture to my grandma she said we looked alike, I took that as a compliment for sure. Secondly, the cutest and most friendly deer ever, Windsong was abandoned by her mom because she had a long snout. They all seem to enjoy each other’s company, SO CUTE!

My favorite cat Noah passed away recently so visiting this spot was super special. There’s even an ark there for the animals to hang out in! This sanctuary is the perfect spring adventure. It’s a stress free, relaxing day with animals who love the company while also giving back to an organization who saved them all, such a fulfilling experience!

I’d love to hear your feedback on a similar experience below!
