Jets placekicker Jason Myers continued his strong campaign this past weekend with a standout performance in the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl. Myers graduated from Marist in 2013 and became the first player from the Poughkeepsie based college to earn such a distinction.

The AFC prevailed over the NFC 26-7 with Myers connecting on two extra points and field goals of 31 and 47 yards. According to the Marist College Athletics website, he undoubtedly earned his way into the big game on the backs of several achievements.

Myers became the first player in NFL history to hit five 55 yard field goals in a single season and his mark of six field goals of over 50 yards tied the NFL record and set a new franchise record. He excelled on kickoffs too, setting a Jets record with 60 touchbacks on 82 kickoffs. Myers was extremely accurate all season long connecting on 91.7% of field goal attempts. And perhaps the most memorable game of 2018 was against the Colts in October when he connected on 7 field goals which set a team record and earned him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Myers is actually the second player in school history to make a professional all-star team, but it's been a while. Marist reports Rik Smits made the NBA All-Star Game in 1998.
