
Massive Police Response Ends With Arrest of Wanted Man in Ulster County
Police agencies across the Hudson Valley worked together late Friday night to track down and arrest a wanted gang member at a motel in Ulster County, NY.
According to the Ellenville Police Department (EPD), it all started on Friday, May 22nd, 2026, when officers teamed up with the Ulster County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Response Team (UCERT), along with members of the Sheriff’s Office Uniform Division, Detective Division, Drone Unit, and K9 Unit, to execute an arrest warrant at the Village Motel on Route 209.
Off-Duty Detective Spots Suspect in Ellenville, NY
According to investigators, the case started to unfold earlier Friday evening when an off-duty detective with the City of Middletown Police Department was traveling through Ellenville around 8:30 p.m. when he believed he spotted a wanted man and a known gang member from Orange County, NY.
The detective reportedly saw the suspect walking toward the Village Motel and immediately contacted the Ellenville Police Department.

EPD then dispatched tactical officers, K9 units, drones, detectives, and patrol officers to the motel in an attempt to safely take the suspect into custody.
Upon arrival, police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Juwan Dolson of Middletown, who police say also goes by the nicknames “La Capone” and “Wanny,” and is a known gang member in Orange County.

Police were able to take Dolson into custody after locating him inside room 41 of the motel at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Suspect on Parole for Involvement in Murder
After further investigation, police said Dolson is currently on parole connected to his involvement in the 2017 murder of Corey White.
Authorities say Dolson was wanted on a felony charge of conspiracy in the second degree. Following the arrest, he was processed by Ellenville Police and later turned over to the City of Middletown Police Department.
