Upstate New York Man Wins Millions on Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket

Another New York Lottery player is celebrating after a routine stop turned into a massive payday, and this time the winning ticket is worth a whopping $10 million.

This appears to be a very lucky week for a few lottery scratch-off players, as another New Yorker has cashed in and won a life-changing amount of money after stopping at a convenience store in Upstate New York.

Man Wins $10 Million on Scratch-Off in Upstate New York

According to the New York Lottery, Daniel Russell of Rensselaer, NY, has claimed the $10,000,000 top prize on the 300X The Money scratch-off game. The winning $30 ticket was purchased at the Cumberland Farms store located at 499 North Greenbush Road in Rensselaer, NY.

While the ticket was worth $10 million, Russell won't actually be taking home the full $10 million. He decided to take his prize as a single lump-sum payment and will walk away with $4,470,118 after required withholdings.

Still, not a bad return on a scratch-off ticket, right?

Another Big Lottery Winner in the Hudson Valley

Russell's massive win comes just days after another New York Lottery player in the Hudson Valley also hit a major prize.

Earlier this week, Penny Smith of Middletown claimed a $1 million top prize on the New York Lottery's 50Xtra scratch-off game. Her winning $5 ticket was purchased at East Main Sunoco on East Main Street in Middletown.

Smith also chose to take her prize as a lump-sum payment. After required withholdings, she received $442,681.

So, if it feels like we've been hearing about a lot of big lottery winners lately, you're not imagining things. From the Hudson Valley to other parts of Upstate New York, some very lucky people have been scratching their way to some serious money.

And there is still a little bit of hope for anyone who likes playing 300X The Money. As of the latest information from the New York Lottery, there were three $10 million top prizes remaining on the game.
