Is Pizza For Breakfast Really Healthier Than Eating Cereal?
You have to be kidding? Well, one dietician is making people who crave a cold slice of pizza for breakfast pretty happy.
Chelsea Amir, who runs the online blog Citnutritionally.com, says that the slice of greasy pizza sitting in your fridge is actually a bit more nutritious than a bowl of cereal with milk.
She told the Chicago Tribune:
You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories. However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.
And while she admits pizza isn't exactly the healthiest thing to have early in the morning, she goes on to say that you're still better off eating a slice of cheese pizza versus a bowl of cereal that's loaded with sugar.
Of course, the internet is a place where you can find just about any absurd claim if you search hard enough. At least one dietician is already refuting Amir's claims. Keri Gans urges people to be smart about their cereal choices. So basically, go for something healthy and full of fiber over Captain Crunch.
Still, this is one small victory for ealry morning pizza snackers. Eat up!
