Each week on ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley. We focus on non-profit organizations and volunteers who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.

This week, Walter Joseph, Executive Director at The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie and Erin Cafarelli, Director of Development and Public Relations at The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie stopped by our studios to get us caught up with all that's been going on at The Children's Home and to talk about April, Child Abuse Prevention Month.

We also discussed the exciting news of a new extension on one of their buildings which will add a whole new wing to be able have all of the children sit and eat together as well as be able to host conferences on site. They also will be celebrating a milestone this year, The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie will celebrate 170 years, which is amazing.

We also discussed their program to help victims of trafficking, their emergency beds, and funding needs so that they can continue to serve our children for another 170 years. As always, they say it so much better than I can, so here's this week's edition of In Touch.
