Hudson Valley Drivers Baffled by This Mind Blowing Backup Camera
A new feature that shows a live, overhead view of your vehicle must be the work of sorcery.
We've having too much fun driving around the 2019 Ram 1500 truck during this year's Thanksgiving food drive. Not only has the truck been helping us haul all of the food donations to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, but we've been able to test drive some new features that are just bonkers.
From the heated steering wheel to the automatically retracting running boards we've been blown away by the crazy technology this vehicle has. But we just weren't prepared for what happened when we put the Ram 1500 into reverse.
As soon as we dialed the car into reverse (yes, dialed) the huge in-dash screen lit up with not only a view from the rear of the vehicle, but a live view from above. That's right, there is an eagle-eye view of the car that you just have to see for yourself to believe.
We were amazed that such a crazy angle of the car was appearing on the screen before us and wondered if Ram has some sort of drone following us from above, filming our every move. Apparently, the Ram 1500 isn't equipped with a drone or satellite, but it does utilize multiple cameras strategically positioned around the vehicle to stitch together that impossible-looking overhead view of the vehicle and its surroundings.
If you want to check out the camera and see some of the other crazy features the Ram 1500 has for yourself, be sure to bring some non perishable food items down to Flory's Mobil on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie on Friday starting at 7am. We'll exchange them for a free gas card while supplies last and you'll get a chance to check out the truck that's made this year's Thanksgiving food drive even more fun.
