Our veterans have done so much for us. They go to war, they risk their lives. And they do it all for our country and our freedom. Did you ever wish there was a way you could say thank you? Well, there is.

This Sunday, Sept. 30, Dutchess County will hold a Year of the Veteran Parade, a celebration of the brave men and women who have protected our nation for generations. The parade steps off from Market Street in Poughkeepsie at 1 pm and proceeds down Main Street, concluding with a celebration at Waryas Park with fun activities for the entire family.

Veterans from every municipality in Dutchess County will take part in the parade, as will groups like the Boys Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of the United States of America, the National Guard and the Spackenkill High School Marching Band.

This is a great way to show our veterans how much we appreciate what they have done and what they continue to do for us every day. Let's line the streets and cheer on those who safeguard our liberty.
