If you love films, especially films made by local filmmakers, you'll be happy to hear that the Towne Crier on Main Street in Beacon is presenting a monthly film night. And did I mention that it's free? The first film will be Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 pm.

This month's selection is All the Creatures Were Stirring. Written and Directed by David Ian McKendry and Rebekah McKendry, All the Creatures Were Stirring stars Constance Wu from Fresh Off the Boat and Crazy Rich Asians Jonathan Kite from 2 Broke Girls, Amanda Fuller from Orange is the New Black and Jocelin Donahue from House of the Devil.

The film is about a young couple struggling through their first date on Christmas Eve who end up in a spooky theater, where they are shown several bizarre and twisted Christmas tales, all featuring scenes of holiday horror.

Mark Gamma, director of Newburgh Actors Studio, hosts the series. Following the screening, Mark will be joined for a Q&A by Seth Colegrove, who composed the score for All the Creatures Were Stirring.
