Rain, rain go away, come back some other day. If only simply saying those words would make it so. Unfortunately, the rain has arrived here in the Hudson Valley and it doesn't look like it's any hurry to leave.

After steady rain that began overnight and has continued throughout the day, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch in effect until 2 am on Tuesday, September 11 for several counties including Sullivan.

It is expected that before the steady rain tapers off to on-and-off showers overnight, some locales could see an additional half inch to inch of rainfall, with locally higher amounts possible. As a result, this could lead to rising water levels, especially along small creeks and streams.

As of this writing, this is only a watch, meaning that flooding could occur. Should flooding begin, we will have that information for you as quickly as possible. If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, please be aware of the conditions, as they could change very quickly.
