Drunken Customer Leaves $1,000 Tip at Restaurant Then Asks for it Back

What would you do with a $1,000 tip?

That’s what happened at a Denver area restaurant when a drunken patron inadvertently left a huge tip after a delicious meal.

TIME says that the waiter at Thailicious discovered $1,088 in the check holder after the customer had left. Having read plenty of stories about drunken customers making poor decisions, the waiter brought the money to Bee Anantatho, owner of Thailicious.

Anantatho told the Denver Post that the employee said that the inebriated customer probably thought the one hundred dollar bills they left were actually one dollar bills.

It was a smart move. Sure enough, the apologetic customer was back the next day, right as the restaurant opened.

Anantatho returned the money to him. In turn, the embarrassed man paid for the meal.
