A Columbia County man is facing felony charges following alleged fraudulent business practices. 

State Troopers from the Livingston barracks arrested Richard A. Dick, 41 of Stuyvesant, NY, for scheme to defraud in the first-degree, a class E felony.

In November 2016, state police were contacted by a Stuyvesant man who reported that he paid Dick several thousand dollars for two tractors which he did not receive .

An investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Livingston which revealed numerous area residents have been victimized by Dick.

Dick is believed to have taken in excess of $10,000 from merchandise that they did not receive.

The fraudulent business practices, which are believed to have started in 2013, were carried out while Dick was conducting business at the Factory Tire Outlet, located at 133 Rossman Road, in the Town of Stockport, and at his previous employer, Jack's Towing, formerly in the Town of Hudson.

Dick was arraigned and remanded to Columbia County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to be back in court at a later date and time.
