Woman Celebrates 50th Birthday in Style, Ends Night in Handcuffs

There's a pretty good chance that this Connecticut woman won't be forgetting her 50th birthday too easily.

Melanie Roberts, of Willimantic, Connecticut was arrested for robbing her limousine driver at gun point outside of her home.

Roberts, had rented the limousine to celebrated her belated birthday. At the end of the night, when the limo returned her to her home, there was a dispute. A dispute over the price for the limousine services. Not happy with the price, Roberts removed the keys from the ignition and ran into her home.

The crazed "birthday day girl" returned wielding a 9mm pistol...yikes! She then threatened to "shoot out" the tires of the limousine. Roberts then reached into the vehicle and grabbed the GPS and a clipboard which contained money, and her signed contract for the services. Roberts then left the scene.

According to a Press Release, it was at this point that the "uninjured" driver called 911. Police arrived and detained the woman in the same parking lot.

Melanie Roberts has been charged with armed robbery, larceny, breach of the peace, threatening to commit a crime, and carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

Roberts was arraigned and released on $100,000 bond
