Win Your Big Game Party With Easy Gourmet Dessert From the CIA
If you're hosting friends for the big game this year you have to try this super easy recipe for a dessert they'll be talking about all year.
Chef Kristin Egan from the Culinary Institute of America was tasked with the job of coming up with an incredible dessert for the biggest game of the year that was easy to make and would please just about anyone.
The acclaimed pastry chef was up to the challenge and presented us with something that's simply out of this world.
Buckeyes are a dessert consisting of a simple peanut butter fudge dipped in chocolate. What makes them perfect for any party is the fact that they're easy to eat, don't make a mess and will have everyone coming back for more.
Here's the chef's simple recipe.
You'll need:
- 1 1/2 c peanut butter.
- 2 sticks soft butter.
- 5 c powdered sugar.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Pinch of salt.
Mix it all together and roll it into balls. Let them get cold in the fridge. Stick them with a toothpick and dip them in melted chocolate. You can add a little vegetable oil to the chocolate if it's too thick. Chill them and then pig out!
Chef Egan tells us that if you put your peanut butter balls on a toothpick it'll make them easier to partially dunk into the melted chocolate, giving them that iconic "buckeye" look.
Believe us, this dessert is a touchdown.
We'd love to see what you're cooking up for the big game, so be sure to send us some photos of your own buckeyes or any other incredible foods you decide to whip up. You can post them to our Facebook page or send them to us directly from the free WPDH app.
