Orange County is adopting a new color for October and it's all for a great cause, to raise awareness and much needed funds for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Real Men Wear Pink initiative will bring many community leaders together to raise funds for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Movement, which includes innovative research, help for patients, as well as educating the public about screening and risk reduction.

Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus, raised funds last year for the first Real Men Wear Pink campaign and this year has invited other top officials and community leaders to also participate.

Each October, Orange County employees also join together to raise money, awareness, volunteer and participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk held annually at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. Last year, they raised more than $2,000.

Once again this year, the team will hold a county-wide employee dress down day, set for Friday, October 13th.  Simply by donating $5, county employees can wear casual clothes for the day. All funds raised will go toward Team Orange’s fundraising efforts.
