Roger Waters of Pink Floyd has never been afraid to speak his mind on a number of controversial issues. Back in August the singer called for his fellow musicians to join his boycott of Israel over their treatment of the Palestinians. Waters posted this on his Facebook page

Please join me and all our brothers and sisters in global civil society in proclaiming our rejection of Apartheid in Israel and occupied Palestine, by pledging not to perform or exhibit in Israel or accept any award or funding from any institution linked to the government of Israel, until such time as Israel complies with international law and universal principles of human rights

Recently, Waters defended his remarks, and according to The Jerusalem Post...referred to the Israeli state as a "racist apartheid regime that is guilty of ethnic cleansing". Waters has drawn wide criticism for his actions over the past several months. During a concert in Brussels this past July, Waters flew the giant Pink Floyd inflatable pig across the stage with the Star of David attached to the side of pig, as well as other dictatorial symbols.

Both musicians Elvis Costello and Annie Lennox have expressed interest in joining the boycott.
