Warrant Wednesday: Ulster County Man Wanted For Assault to an Officer
Unfortunately, every week, there is no shortage of individuals who are wanted by the New York State Police for any number of reasons.
Each week, the New York State Police issue the outstanding warrants and they ask us all to help by spreading the word. The New York State Police post these warrants on their Facebook page and, while we have highlighted an individual here, you can see all of this week’s outstanding warrants below.
New York State Police Troop F, Kingston, are looking for 55-year-old William Barckley Acker for assault with intent to cause injury to an officer and aggravated driving while intoxicated. According to the New York State Police, Acker was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Woodstock where he was then arrested for driving while intoxicated after an investigation. It was when Acker was being taken into custody that he became violent and attacked the arresting officer, causing injury. He was remanded to the Ulster County Jail and has failed to return to court. As a result a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of this individual should contact the NY State Police ASAP. You should not take any police-action yourself other than to contact the NY State Police at (845)-388-1702 or email Crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
