New York State Police charged a woman with assault and criminal possession of a weapon after she allegedly stabbed a person she knew.

New York State Police from Wappingers say they were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a domestic disturbance that occurred in the Town of Wappinger. An investigation revealed that 20-year-old Maquesha L. Patterson of Wappinger stabbed the victim in the arm with a kitchen knife following a physical dispute.

Police charged Patterson with felony assault and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.

The victim was transported to Saint Luke’s Hospital by TransCare Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Patterson was arraigned before the Town of Wappinger Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 security bond.
