Mental Health America of Dutchess County is very proud to announce the opening of its new, one of a kind Veterans One Stop location.

Up until now Hudson Valley veterans would have to travel from location to location in order to receive important services. The geography of the Hudson Valley can make it difficult to get around, especially for older vets with transportation or mobility challenges. But now, thanks to a  generous donation of a Medical Arts Building in Pleasant Valley, veterans need only travel to one central destination to receive the services they need.

MHA's CEO, Andrew O’Grady, expressed just how vital this new facility is to Hudson Valley veterans.

Veterans are true heroes and they should be given the attention and care they deserve. It is hard for Veterans to ask for help and when they do there should be no barriers. Our MHA Veterans One Stop solves that problem. It will truly develop into a model for all communities.

Mental Health America is very excited to bring as many of these Veterans Services as they can into the new Veterans One Stop location at 1335 Route 44 in Pleasant Valley. All of the MHA Veterans Services, which include Vet2Vet, Veterans Vocational and Housing Services, and the newly formed Sgt Fox Suicide Prevention Services haven officially opened at the new site. They're joined by The Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance, the Veterans Sportsman Association and the Dutchess County Veterans Services which has moved over to the new location from the Poughkeepsie Journal Building. Soon, the VA will also add two mental health tele-health offices.

There's even more to come at the One Stop Veteran location, including plans a drop-in recreation center as well as a thrift shop managed by Veterans.

Anthony Kavouris, the MHA Veterans Services Director, says that the new site is already drawing in Veterans.

The plan was that there would be a warm handoff and introduction to the other veterans services. It is already working as we hoped it would.

If you know a veteran that could benefit from services, chances are pretty high they'll find what they need at the new One Stop Veteran location on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley. For more information, you can reach out to MHA online or give them a call at (845) 473-2500.
