It's the third indoor gun range proposed in Ulster county in the past year, but while the other two seem to have fallen by the wayside, Adam Soyer, an orthopedic surgeon from Kingston, is looking to build one in midtown Kingston by next fall, according to The Daily Freeman.

Soyer presented his plan to open an indoor gun range and gun shop at 90 and 92-94 Prince St. to the city planning board this past week. The range would have 5 lanes for shooting mostly short-range handgun targets, plus have a room for education and a gun shop, according to the Daily Freeman article.

In terms of how the public feels about this proposal, the Daily Freeman is reporting that the Kingston City Planning Board members voted against holding a formal public hearing on the gun range, although anyone who wants to comment can attend a November 9 meeting at city hall to have their voices heard.
