It’s always very special when a graduate of a local school does something big and exciting, especially when it lands in the world of television. Highland Central School has one of those students. This particular student's big win was an Emmy award.

Olivia Armstrong, who graduated from Highland Central in 2010, won an Emmy the other night for her part in the HBO series Westworld. The Emmy was for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interaction Media Within a Scripted Program. The announcement was made by the Highland Central administration via social media.

In the posting, Armstrong credited one of her high school teachers for her success. English teacher Annmarie Meisel was an inspiration for Olivia.  Armstrong says, “Your guidance has been my chief inspiration all these years and I’m truly grateful. “

The school went on congratulate Olivia, Ms. Meisel and all of Olivia’s former teachers. They rounded out their post with, “You make us proud to be Huskies! The beautiful thing about being a part of a community is that when one person wins, we all win.”
