The New York Renaissance Faire is back in Tuxedo Park and it's better than ever.

I had the pleasure of attending the New York Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo Park for opening day. As always, it was a fantastic adventure!

There's always a feeling of excitement that comes over me when I enter the Renaissance Faire. My favorite part is interacting with all the different characters that are walking around, and exploring the shops.

This year, Sterling Forest had a different look as some improvements had been made on the property, including a new pub! That will help with the four pub crawls that are offered each fair day.

I actually got to meet the Queen this year, and she was very accommodating, even though I interrupted her snack. She took the time to talk with me for a moment and pose for a photo.

There are newly added attractions this year with boffer wars, where your little hero will learn sword combat from the greatest fighters in the realm and test their skills against their trained mercenaries. The adventure continues with a quest with fairies to discover the magic of their home.

If excitement is what you crave, the Renaissance Faire doesn't disappoint! Watch in amazement at the sword battles and the hard-hitting jousting. The Renaissance Faire offers theme weekends each week including marketplace, heroes and villains, romance, and more.

The shows were absolutely amazing, with the acrobatrix, knife throwing and the fire whip sword show.

One of my favorite people at the fair is Charry. He plays his many indigenous folk instruments, including charango, birimbao, cuatro, pan pipes, percussion. He always plays an awesome classic rock tune when I'm walking by. This year's selection? "Behind Blue Eyes" by the Who.

The Renaissance Faire is running Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day through October 6. More information can be found on the Renaissance Faire's website.
