Save the date on your calendar now.  Aug. 21 is the Run For Home 5K to benefit The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie.  This is a great organization, and a lifesaver to many children in the Hudson Valley.  Boris and I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at The Children's Home, and we were so impressed with the staff, the facilities, and the history.

The Run For Home 5k starts at the Dutchess Rail Trail parking lot at Van Wyck Lane and Lake Walton Road.  You don't have to run, walkers are welcome.  Registration is at 7am.  Registration for the 12 and under kids race is at 8am.  The run/walk starts at 8:45.  There will be prizes, refreshments, face painting, and more.  It's a fun and healthy way to spend the day, and it's all for a great cause.

You can preregister for the Run For Home 5k at www.childrenshome.us or call 845 452-1420.  The 5K will be held rain or shine.  See you on Aug. 21.
