A Newburgh woman traveling on the NYS Thurway with a BAC nearly three times the legal limit causes accident. 

On Saturday night, State Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident southbound on Interstate-87.

Once police arrived, and conducted an initial investigation, it was revealed that a Nissan Altima rear-ended a Audi A6, forcing the Audi off the roadway, according to a press release.

The driver of the Altima was identified as Alyse L. Gotz, 34, of Newburgh was found to be intoxicated. Gotz was transported and processed at the State Police Tarrytown barracks, where her blood alcohol content was determined to .22%, nearly three times the legal limit.

Gotz was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

She was turned over to a sober third party and is due in court at a later date.

There were no injuries reported from the collision.
