A Walden, NY man has been arrested for stealing a large inflatable snowman from a Blauvelt home.

Jeffery J. Meyers, 41 of Walden was arrested after a police officer who was on patrol found him hiding behind a mini van on the street.

According to police, Meyers was holding the large inflatable snowman that had been stolen just moments before from a home on that same street.

The owner of the home, who was awoken by his barking dog, was able to confirm that that Meyers had stolen the ornament off his lawn. He was able to provide police with a video taken by his home security system that showed Meyers walking onto his lawn and taking the snowman.

Meyers was taken into custody and charged with petty larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and trespassing.
