A Carmel man was charged with DWI, his second offense, after he was stopped for driving "In excess of" 80 mph, according to state police.

Lucas Gilchrist, 27, is being charged with aggrevated driving while intoxicated. He waas given this charge since he was convicted of DWI within the last 10 years.

Police stopped Gilchrist because he was spotted speeding down the interstate. He was given a breath test upon being stopped, and the test revealed a BAC of .24 percent, which is three times the legal limit.

He was given tickets and is due in court later this month.
