While a good April Fool's joke can provide us with a laugh, this is not the way to go about it. A Pennsylvania high school student decided to prank her parents (and probably giving them a heart attack in the process), by saying there was a gunman on the loose at her school, according to the NY Daily News. Police say the reports of a “shooter” at State College Area High School’s South Building were unsubstantiated. Numerous officers responded to a 911 call from the female student’s home about 9 a.m Wednesday.

The teen's identity has not been released. State College Police say she later admitted she sent her parents the text message that a shooter was at the school, as a joke. The incident is now under investigation by State College Area School District officials and police.
