James Cromwell is an Oscar nominated actor and Hudson Valley resident. He also is an environmental activist and is currently facing jail time in Orange County.

Back in December 2015, according to the Daily News, Cromwell was involved with a protest outside of the Competitive Power Ventures, a power plant, in Wawayanda. Cromwell and two others had locked themselves together outside the plant and police were forced to use bolt cutters to release them. They were later taken away peacefully in handcuffs.

On Thursday, June 29, Cromwell was sentenced to seven days in jail for obstructing of traffic and refusing to pay the fine associated with the obstruction. The 75 year old and three of the "Wawayanda Six" protesters  will be serving their sentence at Orange County Jail.

Cromwell has starred in movies such as Babe: Pig in The City, Revenge of the Nerds and L.A. Confidential. He also appeared in the television shows American Horror Story, 24 and Boardwalk Empire. He's also in the process of filming a role for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
