Sen. Patrick Gallivan received a suspicious envelope in the mail Monday, and State Police have identified the origin.

The suspicious envelope arrived containing an unknown substance, and a non-specific threatening note. State Police determined that the envelope was sent from Wende Correctional Facility, a maximum security prison in Erie County.

State Police and Firefighters arrived to the scene and found there was no bio hazard present. Nobody suffered any health issues due to the substance the envelope contained., as reported by CBC 6.

State Police are looking into who wrote and sent the letter.
