An Orange County man has been arrested for rape,and endangering the welfare of a child. 

The Orange County Child Abuse Unit, which includes members of the New York State Police, Village of Goshen Police, City of Port Jervis Police, and Orange County Sheriffs arrested 29-year old Jonathen Jones for Rape in the Third-Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

According to a Press Release, Jones was arrested and charged after a report to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline. An investigation revealed that Jones revealed himself to the 15-year old victim with a fake name. He impregnated the victim, which resulted in the birth of a child in November 2015.

During the investigation, the true identity of Jones was revealed, and he was located in Orange County Jail, incarcerated on other charges. Jones was taken from Orange County Jail, and processed at the State Police barracks in Middletown. He was arraigned on the charges of Rape in the 3rd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Jones was returned to Orange County Jail Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail or $20,000.00 secured bond. He is to reappear before the City of Middletown Court at a later date.  An Order of Protection was issued by Honorable Stephen Brockett on behalf of the victim.
