Operation: Defend the Holidays on Veteran’s Day

Here is a great way that you can help make the holiday season a little better for the men and women that are fighting for our country. They are making the ultimate sacrifice for us, and now we can say thank you by taking part in Operation: Defend the Holidays.

This Saturday, Nov. 11 is Veteran's Day, and the Slater Chemical Fire Company at the Glenham Firehouse on Old Glenham Road in Beacon will be collecting items to send to the troops through United for the Troops. United for the Troops is a local organization that sends care packages to our troops overseas. Not sure what to donate? They are looking for snacks, toiletries, and other useful everyday items.
