Police will be out in full force across New York state in support of the national Drive Sober or get Pulled Over Campaign.

Hudson Valley News Network reports that New York State Police and local law enforcement will participate in the campaign from Friday, December 18, 2015 through Friday, January 1, 2016.

Expect to see more sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols.

Police are also expected to crack down on distracted drivers, seat belt violations, and drivers failing to follow the Move Over Law during the time period.

The NY State Police issued more than 49,000 tickets during the 2014 campaign. Authorities say over 17,000 of those tickets were for speeding alone. In addition, 1,730 were for distracted driving and 697 for the "Move Over Law."

702 were arrested for DWI during the 2014 "Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over" program.
