A City of Newburgh woman was sentenced to prison time on Tuesday, for attempting to set fire to an occupied building.

Kayla Watson, 23, pleaded guilty in January to attempted second-degree arson, which is a felony. She admitted to trying set a fire, back in Dec. 2014 in the home which contained two people at the time, as reported by The Record.

Watson was sentenced to two to six years in prison. The judge also ordered that Watson be place in a Shock Incarceration Program. If she can be successful, she could be released in eight months.
