New York Boy Sets Himself on Fire Mimicking YouTube Video

A 12 year-old boy from Far Rockaway, Queens was rushed to hospital after dousing himself with flammable liquid and setting himself on fire.

Now some are saying the boy was following a recent and dangerous YouTube series of videos.

CBS 2 says it is called "The Fire Challenge”. Young people are apparently setting themselves on fire for fun. The series of videos has been around for about two years.

Police say the unnamed the boy poured rubbing alcohol and used a lighter to set himself on fire. Now, the boy has has third-degree burns on over forty percent of his body.

One teen that knows the boy claims that other classmates have copied the YouTube stunt as well.
